Recently I moved out of state and was in such a rush to leave that I left all of my sims 2 behind. I was in an abusive, toxic environment, I had to pack and leave in the space of an hour. Considering the distance I had to travel, it took time.
Since then I've been unable to find The Sims 2 anywhere. I missed the promotion, and I've been trying to get them to give me the UC for ages. I feel like an awful person to keep nagging them about it. I'm sure they get hundreds of people begging for it daily.
I've looked in stores where I live now, and there's none anywhere. I've looked online, and I can't purchase a digital or physical copy /new/ from anywhere trustworthy - that means, no random amazon/ebay sellers. Trust me, I've gone that route. I've gotten ripped off several times. I'm so tired of it. They'll say factory sealed... but you get no code to even install the game. The last time, I bought the base game and several expansion packs from a highly reputable amazon seller, and he sent me everything... except for disc one of the base game. UGH. I got a refund from amazon, but it doesn't make up for the fact that I've spent over $100 trying to get a copy of the game that actually includes everything and WORKS.
I'm tired of getting ripped off. I've contacted EA and begged them to put the game/UC up for sale. I've told them I'll pay ANY price. They say to check secondhand stores... which I've already done.
At this point, I'm considering downloading it illegally. I don't like 3 or 4. But the question is, if EA doesn't care enough to make the game purchasable from THEM, who we can at least rely on to give us our money's worth, when we WANT to give them money for it, are they going to care if we torrent it?
